A comment keeps the next piece of information with the original report. Use it to answer a question, add a test result, or explain that you can still reproduce the problem.
You need access to the item and permission to comment.
Add a comment
- Open the item.
- Find Comments and select Add a comment.
- Write the information you want to add. Include the device or version if it changes the result.
- Select Comment.
- Check that your message appears in the conversation.
Pressing Enter inside the comment box normally starts a new line. While mention suggestions are open, Enter chooses the highlighted person. Use Comment to post the message.
Mention a teammate
- In the comment box, type @ at the beginning of the message or after a space.
- Start typing the person's name or email.
- Choose the matching person from the suggestions. You can use the arrow keys, then Enter or Tab. Escape closes the suggestions.
- Finish the message and select Comment.
A mention identifies the teammate you want to involve. Email notifications depend on their preferences, so do not treat an email notification as proof that they have read the comment.
Before posting, make sure the comment belongs on this item. Keeping related details together saves the next person from searching through several copies of the same report.
