Send work for review and follow the response

When you need someone else to check the work, send it for review with enough context for them to make a decision. Approvals keeps the request separate from your everyday item list.

You need access to the work and permission to update it.

Request a review

  1. Open the item and change Status to Needs Review.
  2. In Request Review, choose who should review it. Anyone sends it to the eligible general reviewers. Specific Person lets you choose one person. Multiple People offers it to the selected group.
  3. Select the reviewer or reviewers when that choice requires them.
  4. Use Notes for Reviewer to explain what changed and what needs checking.
  5. Select Submit for Review.

Multiple People is a pool of possible reviewers, not a requirement for every selected person to approve.

Follow the result

Open Approvals, then Sent requests. Use Open for requests still in progress and All when you also need earlier decisions.

If changes are requested, open Feedback, address the comments, and use Resubmit when the work is ready again. Check the item's resulting status after a decision rather than assuming every kind of work finishes in the same state.

A project can also require approval when you submit a new item or mark work complete. Read the confirmation: it may say the work was sent for approval. You can then track it in Sent requests.

Withdraw an unfinished request

The original requester or an organization admin can use Remove from review on a pending or active request. Read the confirmation and choose Remove from review to proceed, or Keep in review to leave it there. The item remains; the review request is withdrawn. This does not undo a completed decision.
